Tonight is our last sleep on Helene and we have had a good night. The worship service went really well. We played several songs with a few of the islanders and then opened the mic for anyone to offer a special song or testimony. Many of the island girls stood and sang. It was very encouraging to see their willingness to sing. Josh shared with the islanders the miracle that God has done for Nathan, Tricia, and Gwyneth. He encouraged them about the awesome God that we serve and shared the Gospel story. We finished the night with George jamming on the harmonica to "When the Saints Go Marching In." It was quite an experience.
Then we had a debriefing meeting with the full time staff here in Helene. We all shared a "God moment" that we experienced this week and how that will impact our lives when we return to the Outer Banks.
We are now off to cleaning and getting ready for leaving first thing in the morning. Again, please pray for safe travels home tomorrow. Thanks for following our journey. And to God be the glory!!!
Good Night,
Terry and Josh
P.S. Quote of the Day: Terry trying to take his fins off in the shore break saying "I feel like a mermaid."

It has been great being able to read your posts and know some of what has been going on there. We are so thankful that things have gone so well. We continue to pray for each of you and look forward to seeing you tomorrow night!
It is supposed to be in the low 30's in Norfolk and the middle 30's on the OBX so I'm bringing back Barbara and Terry's coats as well as bringing one for Cathy. I'll try to get jackets for the rest of you if I can get in touch with someone to get them. (Ideas for who to contact for Bonnie & Alex, and Chris, and how to get them for Josh & Bethany can be left in a post or emailed to me at christianlady1975@yahoo.com.) After those wonderfully warm temps ya'll have been enjoying in Helene, I imagine you guys will really feel the cold!
In the Atlanta airport area, they are expecting rain and snow showers and a "light wintry mix" with temperatures between 31 and 33 from midnight until 8 am, but they show the temp being around 39 from 7pm to 10pm so hopefully this won't effect yall's flights. If it does, we know God will take care of finding yall another route home because "when the saints go marching in" God is always with them!
Much love to all, Claire
Great report. Sounds as if everything went as planned and you guys have made an impact on the people of the island. I have been very excited about reading your reports, and being able to follow the activities you are doing. I am relived that God has guided each of you amd used your labor for his work.
We will pray that he will continue to protect and watch over you til you come back home to us.
Continued prayers for a safe trip home and a safe flight.
What a great worship service to end your stay on Helene. Seeing people from a different culture worship Christ seems like it would give everyone fresh eyes when we ourselves go to our regular places of worship. I'm so glad it's five in the morning when I'm reading this post. I would have hated trying to go to sleep with the picture of Terry as a mermaid bouncing around in my head. As it is it may take years of therapy to get the image out of my head. I'll be praying for an awesome trip home for you all and for the routes home to be the ones planned. Just in case maybe I should mapquest directions to IHOPS in Kentucky and malls in Arizona. However it goes I know the Lord will continue to be looking out for everyone each step of the way. Love, Tommy
sleep well all - we look forward to safe travels for you and to seeing you and hearing all that God has done on your trip -
